Charity Spotlight: Shifra Homes Inc.
Over the years we have expanded our charitable giving to three local Burlington Organizations. I will highlight all three organizations in order to provide our community and donors with more information.
Shifra Homes Inc. was added to our charitable list last year. Dr. Surya heard about this organization and then went to the home to meet with those that run the program and those participating in it.
Shifra homes is a home for homeless youth (Age 16-27) who are pregnant. The home can accommodate up to 5 women and 5 babies at a time. This home offers these young women a safe environment to carry out the remainder of their pregnancies and to start to raise their new child.
The home offers support in many different ways, emotional, psychological, educational, they offer help with job searches, life skills, financial skills, nutrition, adoption and more.
This home is the only one of its kind in the Halton Region.
We are proud to be able to support this charity that works to help to get these new mothers and babies off to a positive start.
